Stars No Stars

New panicattract recruit Noel has got me in playing bass temporarily for his Stars No Stars project.  We are supporting the mighty Xiu Xiu at the Cardiff Arts Institute on Thursday 25th Feb…  Pretty big gig for the first time I’ve played bass in public.  Valium is keeping me sane.  Anyway come down and see the us! It’s free to get in too and you get to see Xiu Xiu.  What more could you want eh?

GYPSY

Download: Gypsy (panic attract remix)

We’ve done a remix for our mates The Helmholtz Resonators!  They are a wacky bunch so we thought the only thing we could do was to eat some suspect mushrooms and play a lot of super mario brothers.  This is the result.  Enjoy it and check out their music cos it is very nice.

We’ve got two new people on board…

…introducing Noel and Matt

Noel will be strumming guitar

Matt will be banging drums

Both me and Greg have been big fans of these guys for some time now and we’re excited about how things are moving.  We’re now stuck into a mammoth rehearsal mission to get up to speed and should be ready for a live unveiling in a couple of months.

In the mean time, check out their other bands..

cold months

well the new year freeze has been keeping us busy of late. Greg has been busy with layers of moog on the as yet untitled Swedish project. We should have some tracks ready for this soon. Meanwhile I’ve been been with developing some sound design for a new iphone game which will be out towards the middle of the year. It’s a sci-fi action/puzzler kind of thing and is looking amazing. it’s giving me plenty of reasons to make epic drones.

In more panic attract related news it looks like we’ve recruited a couple of new band members… Early stages of rehearsals so far but if all continues then we should be ready for a re-launch in march time. That means we wont be doing any gigs until then. Sorry London. More details will follow..

ALSO we’ve now started to put some DJ sets together so if you want us to play at your night email here: panicattract@googlemail.com
we play things that we like. sometimes we like to dance. sometimes we like to beard scratch.

Hill Day

Posted by – December 8, 2009

Well, here we have a new track called Hill Day which you can download for free! Think of it as a christmas present if you like… Bit of a different direction this one, be good to know what you guys think. Cheers to Grace for her singing!

Download: Hill Day.mp3

The words:

it came with a willowy eye, to distance itself from the people.

it came in a bottle tonight, and told you all it loved was you.

it told some terrible lies, among the best ones where unspoken.

it caused your schemes to fall to floor and made your colleagues read your masterplans

and where they had began.

but you know, i think it’s the best one you’d ever had.

you said that the power was out, and made a route for undercover.

escaped in a scowl of light, but i guessed that you’d tripped the fuse.

it found you lacking alright, it noticed that your path was frozen.

you gave into the feast tonight and shrouded all your dreams in legacy,

but it’s old news to me.

cos you know i think that it’s the best one you’ve ever had.

you’ve got to loosen some of your bridges, you’re pacing around

you better loosen some of your bridges and take a sit down

cos in the sunset scheme of an evening, well you better know

you better loosen some of your bridges and leave me alone.

and i let this show oh wo

and steal the show oh wo

because you loosened some of your bridges and took a sit down.

what the hell has been going on
