Here are some murky recordings from bonbonjovijovi’s latest set at the really excited about deptford night… The Birds Nest is a great bar but also full of old chavs and this gave rise to some interesting reactions for our noisey indulgences. Some of which I recorded for use in another set another time… But anyway..

BBJJ IN DEPTFORD!!!
This Friday we’re taking the Bon Bon Jovi Jovi roadshow to Deptford. It is at the Birds Nest and part of the fantastically good monthly night “I’m really excited about Deptford” which is presented by our brothers Bob Constant and the Goodbye Horses. This time we’re going to air some new basswonk we’ve been working on and jump around to sped up bagpipes (as usual)..
drum recordings and more DJ activity y’all
This shady looking picture is evidence of us at work in the studio, finally starting the album. We spent a sunny sunday recording drums with new basher matt and the results were both smashing and lovely. We’re now at work editing and overdubbing for our first 2 singles! The day was particularly testing given the previous nights DJ adventure where I got paid in beer. It was a success of sorts and managed to get a rammed out Catch dancing a bit with some nice dancehall and ravey stuff. Major Lazer particularly went down well. I love Diplo.
Anyway, I’m doing the DJ thing again this Friday at the George Tavern on Whitechapel Road. It’s shaping up to be a good night with Bo Ningen, Blue on Blue, Bob Constant and Trash Kit playing live and a host of other DJs. Plus it’s our mate Samir’s birthday so come down and wish him well.
and happy easter you christians/chocolate lovers out there.
DJ Tim
I’m playing my first “DJ” set this Saturday at Catch in Shoreditch. I use the term DJ lightly as I have no records or no skills at mixing. I do have lots of nice dub mp3s which I’m going to play out of ableton. I have to try and avoid the temptation of playing really obscure stuff just for the hell of it. people like to dance or so i’m told.
But it should be a good night, with My Drug Hell, Maria and the Mirrors and Blue on Blue also playing their fav records.

Stars No Stars
New panicattract recruit Noel has got me in playing bass temporarily for his Stars No Stars project. We are supporting the mighty Xiu Xiu at the Cardiff Arts Institute on Thursday 25th Feb… Pretty big gig for the first time I’ve played bass in public. Valium is keeping me sane. Anyway come down and see the us! It’s free to get in too and you get to see Xiu Xiu. What more could you want eh?
GYPSY
Download: Gypsy (panic attract remix)
We’ve done a remix for our mates The Helmholtz Resonators! They are a wacky bunch so we thought the only thing we could do was to eat some suspect mushrooms and play a lot of super mario brothers. This is the result. Enjoy it and check out their music cos it is very nice.
band members are like busses
We’ve got two new people on board…
…introducing Noel and Matt
Noel will be strumming guitar
Matt will be banging drums
Both me and Greg have been big fans of these guys for some time now and we’re excited about how things are moving. We’re now stuck into a mammoth rehearsal mission to get up to speed and should be ready for a live unveiling in a couple of months.
In the mean time, check out their other bands..
cold months
well the new year freeze has been keeping us busy of late. Greg has been busy with layers of moog on the as yet untitled Swedish project. We should have some tracks ready for this soon. Meanwhile I’ve been been with developing some sound design for a new iphone game which will be out towards the middle of the year. It’s a sci-fi action/puzzler kind of thing and is looking amazing. it’s giving me plenty of reasons to make epic drones.
In more panic attract related news it looks like we’ve recruited a couple of new band members… Early stages of rehearsals so far but if all continues then we should be ready for a re-launch in march time. That means we wont be doing any gigs until then. Sorry London. More details will follow..
ALSO we’ve now started to put some DJ sets together so if you want us to play at your night email here: panicattract@googlemail.com
we play things that we like. sometimes we like to dance. sometimes we like to beard scratch.
